During this incredible tour, you will stroll along the Las Baulas National Marine Park beaches in the dusk to search for green turtles, which come ashore to lay their eggs. You will go to the less well-known Playa Minas rather than the park's crowded Playa Grande.

It is crucial to follow park regulations while visiting this protected region. Local initiatives to shield the region from development that would endanger this delicate environment are funded in part by visitors to Las Baulas National Marine Park.

To avoid light pollution, hotels close to the seaside keep their windows darkened. It is forbidden for visitors to snap photos or do anything that could annoy the turtles.

May through August is when green turtles are most likely to land to lay their eggs. Regretfully, over the last ten years, there have been fewer turtles to be seen. During nesting season, they no longer consistently show up on the beach. But do not worry, it will still be worth coming to watch the moonlit shoreline even if you do not spot any turtles.

A green turtle may come out of the water and make its way to a location on the beach just offshore if you are lucky. After that, the female turtle will use her flippers to dig a shallow burrow in which to lay 65–90 eggs. After that, the female will return to the water and cover her eggs with sand. Little hatchlings will emerge 60 days later and enter the water after their mother.
